Chris DuBois worked as Director of Membership for ASCAP Nashville from 1993 to 1999.  Chris left ASCAP in March of 1999 to form Sea Gayle Music with partners Brad Paisley and Frank Rogers.  Since that time, Sea Gayle has become the most successful independent publishing company in Nashville, celebrating over 25 number one singles.  Sea Gayle was named ASCAP’s 2010 Country Publisher of the Year, a remarkable feat for an independent company. Sea Gayle Music is also the parent company to the imprint record label Sea Gayle Records.  In 2010, its first year of business, Sea Gayle Records saw its debut artist, Jerrod Niemann, celebrate a number one debut single (“Lover, Lover”) and a number one debut album (Judge Jerrod and the Hung Jury). As a songwriter, Chris has had a hand in writing more than ten number one singles.  His chart-topping hits include Mark Wills’ “19 Somethin’,” Josh Turner’s “Your Man” and Darius Rucker’s “It Won’t Be Like This For Long.”  He has also written numerous Brad Paisley hits including “We Danced,” “Mud On The Tires,” “Then,” and “This Is Country Music.”  Chris was named ASCAP Country Songwriter of the Year for 2004 and NSAI Songwriter of the Year for 2010.
