Grammy-nominated lyricist Pamela Phillips Oland is one of the music industry's most versatile, prolific and successful songwriters, accumulating hundreds of artist cuts and TV & film credits. Oland co-wrote the songs and co-created the story for Soldier of Orange, a massive-scale stage musical based on the Oscar- and Golden Globe-nominated film of the same name. Opening October 2010 in Holland, the show has already sold an unprecedented quarter of a million tickets. Soldier is Oland’s 13th musical. She is currently co-writing lyrics for Mad Alice for the same producer. Pamela has written with and for some of the best talent in the world including Aretha Franklin, The Four Tops, Berlin, Whitney Houston (“Nobody Loves Me Like You Do”), Simon Lynge, Backstreet Boys, Peabo Bryson, the Whispers, Selena, Frank Sinatra (“Monday Morning Quarterback”), The Jacksons, Gladys Knight, Brian Wilson (Beach Boys), Anne Murray, and Reba McEntire. Film & TV uses have included the opening and end titles to 102 Dalmatians, and themes and songs for Coming To America, Gideon, I’m Gonna Git You Sucka, and Xena: Warrior Princess. Oland has two popular songwriting books in print, The Art of Writing Great Lyrics and The Art of Writing Love Songs. She recently completed her first novel.
